SELF-DOUBT, HOW DO YOU STOP IT

This post is about Self doubt, and I need to stop making it ruin my life. And sharing some tips along the way. Self-doubt really has hindered me most of my recent life mainly. Stopping me from taking up opportunities, thinking I was not right for it, or that my video content is not the best quality. And questioning myself a lot and not in a good way. And not having much confidence in myself, even though by seeing my social media content you would think otherwise.

Self doubt is lack of confidence in oneself and ones abilities.

WHY DOES SELF-DOUBT HAPPEN?

Self-doubt happens when you’re experiencing lack of confidence or feel incapable of doing things we need to do. And if this persistently keeps happening fear mixes with self-doubt and can highly effect your life in a negative way.

HOW HAS SELF-DOUBT AFFECTED ME?

Self doubt has effected me many times in my life and many occasions too. From good opportunities that come my way to doing normal day to day activities. I think this is a side effect from being an overthinking. (my opinion but feel it to be true as this is what I am experiencing)

WAYS TO GET OVER SELF-DOUBT –

KNOW YOUR STRENGHTS

Knowing your strengths is good to remember, and that you are a strong person. What are you good at doing? Remember what you have accomplished and conquered. And what weaknesses can you improve to be a multi-versatile person?

BE MORE CONFIDENT IN WHAT YOU DO

If you have done the task before, you are more that capable to do it again. Be proud of what you have done, and try not to dwell on the negatives too much. Or think what you have done could of been better, when it was perfectly fine.

BE PROUD OF YOUR PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Remember and be proud of your past accomplishments and what you have achieved in your life. Put those positive energies into the new challenge.

SEEK ADVICE FOR REASSURANCE

Don’t be afraid to ask people for advice. And it’s good to get feedback also, whether good or bad. If it is not good feedback, look at it as a way for something to improve on and what you can do to make it better.

Break down the thought patterns that is hindering youself, and turn them into positive actions

This involves changing your mindset, and changing particular negative words into positive ones.

Examples –

I can’t do thischange it tothis is something different and I am feeling unsure, but let me give this a try and see if I can do this. Than to be scared of trying.

This is new to me, I don’t think I can do this new challenge change it toThis is new, but let me do some research to get more information and it will make me feel more confident doing this new task”.

I still have so much more to learn myself, but I am going at a steady pace and taking my time to learn and improve on myself. And to push through my mental barriers, which are stopping me.

REMEMBER

    Know that not every thought you think is the TRUTH
    CHALLENGE yourself
    Raise YOUR self-awareness
    FORGIVE yourself
    And DON’T GIVE UP
