So I am back with more dating advice.
Remember this is the month of LOVE, and again I did a podcast episode about this subject couple years ago. Oh yes I used to be a podcaster. I may get back into podcasting in the future. Listening back I slightly cringe at my smooth podcast voice, lol.
7 QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ALWAYS ASK ON A FIRST DATE
Anyways let’s get into the 7 questions you should always ask on a first date. And just to let you know I am not a dating guru, I am just sharing information that can be useful.
ARE YOU MARRIED?
For this question, you may wonder or think it’s a silly question to ask. But this is a very important question to ask. And never assume anything, always get the facts. Plus hopefully if the person is lying there will be tell tell signs of this. Some people don’t act their genuine selfs online and sometimes like to portray themselves other than who they really are. A relationship is build on truth and trust.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Now this question is very inciteful and so much information can be gathered from this question. And will give you clarity to work out if you’re both on the same page and looking for the same things. Are you both looking for something serious or just a casual thing? Once you have been given the answer to this question you will be able to know if the person is suitable for your needs.
WHAT ARE YOU READING?
This is a preferential question to ask. If someone was to ask me what am I reading?, my answer would be to say not a book. Don’t judge me 🙂 . But I would explain and maybe slightly over exaggerate that what I read is good, like the types of articles and blogs I read. But have not read a book for awhile. But by what I say will show that I can and do like to read things. So if the person you’re on a date with does not specifically state a book, don’t hold it against them. There will only be a trigger warning if the person you’re on a date with made out that they have read many books going by their profile and seem intellectual, but don’t give of those vibes when actually on the date.
ARE YOU A DOG OR CAT PERSON?
Now this a debate question to ask. Many people prefer one over the other. And some don’t like either. But this question is very useful, just in case in the future when living together and you both decide to get a pet. I am a dog person, so the person I would like to date in the future has to like dogs to. I’m not a big fan of Cats, long story. I may leave that for another post. But by knowing this earlier on, their will not be any issues about this in the future hopefully.
DO YOU WANT KIDS? AND DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Again this information might be on the profile, but it is always good to ask this question face to face. And think can you date a person who already has kids? When do you plan to have kids in the future? This is very good to be discussed early on in the dating stages. To understand if you both want the same things.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF DONALD TRUMP?
I had to double think why is this question on here. But it’s a good question to be asked on a date. Especially from recent events Trump has done. Trump is a touchy subject for many. But could or would you really be ok if the person you’re dating has good interests to Trump and spoke for and not against him? And this could cause many disagreements in the future. I guess it really depends on how you handle the information disclosed at that point in time.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT?
Now this question is asked to gather information on the person you’re on a date with eating habits and preferred foods of choice. And is very useful to ask especially if you are a person with allergies. I am a fussy eater, so I hope that the answer to the question will be of a restaurant and foods that I like. I don’t like sushi, not into cold food and not a big fish fan either. The restaurant has to have meat on the menu :). But to be honest I am more of a dessert person as I have a sweet too.
Lol trump?! Girl if someone asked me that I’d assume they are testing if I’m a lunatic or if I have some sense 😅
