LESSONS I HAVE LEARNT IN 2020

So this will be a reflective post, looking at a few lessons I have learnt in 2020. And just reflecting on events this year. So here they are –

NOT GIVING UP

The way things have happened this year, so unpredictable and there have been many reasons to give up. But we have to be STRONG, and know that we can conquer anything, including our fears. We are actually surviving a Pandemic right now. And remember everything you have been through and you are still here today. I am remember the lyric to a song “EVERYDAY IS LIKE A BATTLE, BUT WE’LL OVERCOME, WHEN WE GET BACK IN THE SADDLE, FAITH WILL BRING US ON” this song is by Wookie called Battle.

NOT TO BE TO HARD ON MYSELF

There are many reasons for me to be hard on myself, from failing to get a job to many missed opportunities, and self doubt hindering my progress. But I really have to understand that many of these things I don’t control and can be unpredictable, so I have to be less hard on myself. The employment situation, so many people are looking for jobs right now, but because of COVID-19 many businesses have not survived due the Lockdown restrictions and loss of money and meant many more people losing their jobs. But I know that things will get better, it will just take time and for COVID-19 to be under control. For missed opportunities, there will be many more in the future. Like I said both of these are not in my control, so I just need patience.

I NEED TO READ MORE IN 2021

I am a reluctant reader, because I have a short attention span and a forgetful brain. I am kind of making excuses, but from now on I aim to read more including blog posts, articles and attempting to read books again. This will help to improve my attention, if I can push through the awkwardness and not to think I could be doing something else. The benefits of reading more will be that I will be learning more and improving my volcabulary.

BEING ABLE TO REFLECT MORE ON THINGS

In 2021 I will keep up regularly taking time out to to reflect on things. This may sound odd, but I guess because of COVID-19 and being in Lockdown this has given me the opportunity to reflect on things more. But hopefully when things gradually get back to normal sometime in 2021. I would still like to keep this habit up.

PATIENCE

This is a tricky one, but I will still add this. Everything that has happened in 2020. And still having patience is a plus for me. The UK government being slow on how they acted when they first knew about COVID-19. Many processes that would of taken the easiest amount of time, now take longer. For example being on hold for longer when you make particular telephone call to companies, and the annoying/lovely music played when on hold waiting. Extra waiting time when queuing at a supermarket when doing food shopping, making sure people keep their distance, the 2 metre distance. Waiting for COVID-19 to go away for good, I really can not wait for that day to come. But to be honest my Patience is still the same.

  1. Yesss these are all really great lessons that I too learned. I think for me i learned that I don’t need a lot to survive and that my priorities are my family and faith everything else is really pointless without others to participate in. Half the stuff we do is for an audience or because others are doing it
