So I put all this things in my Natural hair. To make a Coffee mask for my hair – What happened?
I have natural hair, but say I am a lazy natural compared to those who make many DIY treatments to use in their hair and of more natural ingredients used.
But I have been taking little steps, like making my DIY hair growth oil using many rich hair oils and fenugreek seeds. Gaining more knowledge on auyrevdic herbs and how they can help with hair growth, by doing research and watching other Natural hair content creators making various DIY treatments and oils and watching their natural hair journey. CURLY PROVERBZ has inspired me I have been following her hair journey for couple of years now, you really will be amazed at her hair, her hair journey and what she uses in her hair for hair growth.
Anyways for the above ingredients in the picture, I was inspired by a fellow Natural hair blogger on Instagram @lacurlsx , she is always making DIY treatments for natural hair. And recently I thought I had all the ingredients and plenty time on my hands being in Lockdown.

So thought why don’t I try this DIY treatment out on my hair, ingredients you will need is
- HONEY
- COCONUT OIL
- GROUNDED COFFEE
- A DEEP CONDITIONER
Why these ingredients? why are they good?
Honey
We all know Honey, it’s made from the lovely Bees, a sugar alternative. Honey has so many benefical properties rich in anti-oxidents, protein, minerals, and vitamins. Honey is a emollient which aids in sealing in moisture, when used on the hair. Honey can also act as a natural cleanser, and it has been proven to remove impurities from the scalp and hair and aids in minimising clogging of the scalp.
Coffee
Yes we all know Coffee as a hot drink beverage, people like to drink, but not me. When used in the hair it helps to promote hair growth and helps to block DHT hormones, which is known to cause hair loss. Coffee or the Caffiene in Coffee helps or shall I say encourages the hair to grow, by speeding up the hair growth process. So promotes healthy hair growth.
Coconut oil
Is known as the Miracle oil, can be used in so many ways. Coconut oil helps to nourish the hair and penetrates into the hair cuticles, and not just sit on the hair like some oils do. Coconut oil can be used a prepoo before you wash your hair, in the deep conditioning process and in styling your hair. Coconut oil can also be used to detangle the hair, and used on split ends to combat frizz. Coconut oil contains many benefical vitamins and fatty acids that is good for your hair.

How to make Coffee mask for your hair?
- 2 – 3 tablespoons of coffee in a bowl
- 2 – 3 tablespoons of honey
- 2 – 3 tablespoons of pure coconut oil
- A good amount of deep conditioner to get a good firm creamy consistency
- Then I apply it to my hair, section by section
- After I put a plastic bag on my hair ( a plastic cap or clingfilm can be use)
- Then wrap my hair in a towel, to keep the heat in
- Leave on my hair for around 1 hour
- Then rinse out in warm water
- Then start the process of styling my hair
What was it like?
It was easy to apply to my hair, just like applying a normal conditioner to your hair. I can smell the coffee, but its not strong as it is stirred into the deep conditioner mixture.
Would I make it again?
Yes, but I will use a thicker deep conditioner. So the tips for making this coffee mask for your hair is to use a THICK CONDITIONER. And use FINE GROUNDED COFFEE. I will say again this mask is easy to make. And recently I have been adding Fenugreek seed powder to the mixture, as my hair loves it. I will do a future post about Fenugreek seeds and benefits of using it in your natural hair routine.
